I Love the Prairie Sky

Some day I'll have a good camera with filters to be able to capture the true colors and brilliance of the sky.

Until them, I'm grateful to have a camera at all. I absolutely love the huge prairie sky and summer clouds.

Summer Poetry Project

Noble asked me to participate with her in writing poetry this past summer as a practice exercise for her. We were to do one each week. I wrote for two weeks, she lasted only one. Oh well. It was fun anyway.

Here's my second poem, followed by photos to illustrate.

My Classification of Clouds
30 May 2020

First: flat, grey, endless opaque oppression
sun blocking, soul sucking, spirit squashing
                                                   cool, maybe warm, deceitful

Second: shimmering sylphs in diaphanous veils
                                                  wispy, lacy, rippling, translucent
                                                  ethereal shreds and strings
                                                  gauzy ghosts afloat

Third: towering, billowing, bulging, blooming, blowing
                                                white, grey, black
                                                playing peek-a-boo with the sun
dropping rain, flashing lightening, booming thunder
piling up, blowing over, moving on
                                                enlivening, rejuvenating

Fourth: fleecy, fluffy, fanciful bright puffs
                                                shapeful, shading, lazy
                                                drifting, driven, floating, fleeing
                                                benign, full of light

Contentment

Finding joy and contentment in the things around us is part of being frugal.

Not long ago I noticed a gorgeous sunset with great clouds and hundred of birds swooping through the air. I stepped outside and took a few pictures as I savored the moments.

Apologies

I really want to finish my travelog, even if few are interested. I want enjoy the pictures and memories. Anyway, I keep getting sidetracked with lots of activities like high school graduation, and work around the house. Bear with me, I'll finish up soon.

The painting is done in the living room and I absolutely love the colors. Next step is getting the ghastly green carpet out and painting the floor. That's next week's project. I've got to hurry and finish so I can get outside and work in the yard. We've had lots of rain and everything, including the weeds, is growing a mile a minute.

Here's a flower I planted:

And some glorious clouds after a thundershower:

And another shot a few minutes later:

When I get the living room back completed and back together I'll take some photos and show you; then I'll get back to reporting about Korea. Occasionally out of the blue I have intense longings to return, I just love that land.
